We aim to reach young people (aged 17-25) who could benefit the most, by working with a range of referral partners and like-minded organisations. This includes local authorities and statutory agencies, supported housing providers and a range of third sector and community partners.

We are committed to strengthening relationships across the region and contributing to a network of support for young people that extends beyond Pendragon Project.

INFORMATION FOR ORGANISATIONS & PROFESSIONALS

We work in partnership with young people. We do not accept referrals for our programmes that are completed without consent and input from the young person. To join one of our programmes, a young person must:

  • Be aged 17-25 and live in Sussex (West Sussex, East Sussex or Brighton and Hove);

  • Have a support worker or social worker; or

  • Be a member of a youth organisation or engaged with a support service

  • Have an open mind and be willing to embark on a new adventure!

HOW WE WORK

Applications are now open for young people to join our new Adventures in Nature development pathway!

What is Adventures in Nature?
A free 12-month programme focused on adventure, connection and personal growth - built around three key principles:

  • Opportunity through Adventure: build confidence, teamwork and skills through outdoor challenges

  • Nurtured by Nature: take part in mindful, creative and wellbeing-focused experiences in nature

  • Agency through Action: your journey, your goals. We work with each young person to support their personal development and next steps

Each month, the cohort will come together for a different outdoor activity from adventure days and creative nature-based workshops, to a multi-day expedition across the South Downs.

You can share this YouTube video with any young people who might be interested in the programme.

Who is it for?
The programme is for young people aged 17-25 who:

  • Live in West Sussex, East Sussex or Brighton and Hove

  • Want to get outdoors, try something new and challenge themselves

  • Are currently linked with a social worker, support service or trusted adult professional

How do they apply?
Our application process is youth-led. This means the application must be completed by the young person themselves, including a short written statement, voice note or video explaining why they would like to join the programme.

The application must have a supporting referral from a professional who knows and works with the young person. The application form should be completed together and submitted online:

ADVENTURES IN NATURE

  • Pendragon Project is a teambuilding and youth development social enterprise based in Sussex. We believe that outdoor adventure and learning in nature can be a powerful force for creating positive change in young people’s lives.

  • We support 17–25 year-olds in Sussex who are going through a tough time or big life changes. To join the programme, you need to be aged 17–25 and already linked with a support service. This could be a social worker, support worker or attending a support group/service.

  • The programme is for young people who are dealing with one or more things that can make life harder. This might include being in care, seeking asylum, caring for someone, facing housing issues, being at risk, or living with mental health challenges or support needs.

  • We’re a small team, so we work closely with trusted organisations and support staff to help us reach young people who’ll get the most from our programmes. This helps us build safe, supportive relationships from the start with you, them, and us.

  • Some activities take place in wild spaces, and because we’re a small team, we cannot provide 121 staff support for individuals and might not always be able to support wheelchair users or people with complex health needs. But we’ll always do our best to make things work, so if you’re interested, talk to us or ask your support worker to get in touch.

If you or your organisation works with 17-25 year-olds in Sussex and you’d like to register your interest in our programmes, see below for links on how to connect with us:
